  • Know what to revise each week: start from the exam date and work backwards over 16 or 8 weeks. The last week is kept for light review and a final check-in, with no new topics.
  • Remember instead of rereading: memory research shows that testing yourself from memory and spreading your revision over time help you remember more than rereading in one block. The spaced repetition log has you self-test on D+1, D+3, D+7 and D+21: a practical guide, not a law.
  • Get started more easily: one written goal, a timer (for example 25 minutes), a short break (for example 5 minutes). These are examples: research does not set an ideal length.
  • Sheets that help you test yourself: a topic sheet, a question and answer sheet, and a formulas, dates and diagrams sheet. Write from memory first, then fill the gaps from your notes.
  • Turn mistakes into a list of things to review: an error log (mistake, cause, correction, redone correctly) and a tracker for practice papers done without the mark scheme.
  • Notice your rhythm, with no medical advice: a 14-day tracker (bedtime, wake-up time, breaks, energy) and a “When it feels heavy” page to lighten your plan and remember to talk to someone.
  • Reach exam day with a clear plan: a one-week review, checklists for the day before and the day itself (documents and permitted equipment as set by your exam rules), and an “After the exam” page.
  • For any exam, any year: nothing is dated. You write your own dates, and the week runs from Day 1 to Day 7, starting on whichever day you choose.

Exactly what you get

  • My exam (3 pages): dates and papers, a 16-week grid to cross off, your subjects and topics over 2 pages (weight in the exam, level 1 to 5, covered, reviewed).
  • My backward plan (4 pages): the method in 5 steps, a 16-week plan over 2 pages and an 8-week plan.

  • Timed sessions (3 pages): the method and 2 sheets of 10 sessions.

Who it is for

For secondary school students, university students and adults returning to study who are preparing for a written or oral exam on a known date, and who want a simple structure instead of “rereading everything”. For anyone revising on paper or on a tablet with a stylus. For parents and teachers looking for an honest tool to give.

Who it is not for

Not for anyone looking for lessons, past papers, worked answers or solutions: this planner organises your revision, it does not teach the subject. Not for anyone expecting a guaranteed grade or admission. Not for anyone who wants an app with automatic reminders: these are PDFs.

Frequently asked questions

There are free planners online. Why pay? A free template gives you boxes. Here every page rests on a method explained in plain words, and the parts work together: backward plan, repetition log, revision sheets, error log, practice paper tracker and review.

What about results? This planner does not promise any grade or result. It is an organisation tool: it does not replace your lessons or your teachers.

I have less than 8 weeks left. Use the 8-week plan and start on the row that matches today.

Why D+1, D+3, D+7 and D+21? It is a practical guide, not a law. What research mainly shows is that spacing beats revising everything in one block. Missed a day? Do the test the next day.

Will it work for my exam? Yes, if it takes place on a known date: school-leaving exams, university exams, entrance exams, language tests or professional exams. The exam names on the examples page are given for illustration only; this product is unofficial.

I revise on a tablet. Import the tablet PDF into your PDF annotation app and keep the links active: the contents page and tabs take you to each section.

Can I reprint pages? Yes, as many times as you like for your personal use, for example the revision sheets.

I am a parent or a teacher: is the method sound? The statements about memory are few and careful, and the planner also says what research does not know. The revision sheets are for learning, not for taking into the exam room.

What about sleep? The “Sleep and breaks” pages only help you observe your rhythm: no recommended hours, no products, no medical advice. If you are struggling, talk to a health professional or someone you trust.

And the next exam? Nothing is dated: just print the planner again. One purchase, no subscription.
